Slow Food Portland June Convivium: Regenerative Livestock, Healthy Lands & the Future of Meat

What role should animals play in a truly sustainable food system?

Join Slow Food Portland for our June Convivium featuring Mike Guebert of Terra Farma and Friends of Family Farmers’ Oregon Pasture Network. Mike will explore how regenerative livestock farming can build soil health, improve ecosystem resilience, support animal welfare, and produce nutrient-dense food while offering an alternative to industrial meat production.

Drawing from more than two decades of experience raising pasture-based livestock at Terra Farma, Mike will discuss how thoughtful grazing systems can restore landscapes rather than degrade them, and why the way animals are raised matters for the health of land, communities, and eaters alike.

The conversation will also explore the work of Friends of Family Farmers and the Oregon Pasture Network in supporting regenerative livestock producers across Oregon through education, advocacy, and farmer-to-farmer collaboration.

This evening will offer an opportunity to engage directly with a farmer deeply involved in both the practical and policy sides of building a more resilient food system.
