May Convivium: Coffee, Connection & the Slow Food Coffee Coalition

  • Cookshop 2625 Southeast 26th Place Portland, OR, 97202 United States (map)

What does a better coffee system actually look like from farm to cup?

Join Slow Food Portland for our May Convivium featuring Gabriela Pinedo Zagaceta of SUNAO Coffee and her work with the Slow Food Coffee Coalition.

The Coffee Coalition is a global network connecting everyone involved in coffee from farmers to roasters to drinkers, with the goal of building a system that is good, clean, and fair. It focuses on strengthening relationships across the supply chain, increasing producers' visibility, and promoting transparency, traceability, and quality at every step.

Gabriela’s work brings this to life. Through direct relationships with coffee-growing communities in Peru, she sources beans that reflect not just place, but the people and practices behind them. Her approach centers quality alongside environmental stewardship, biodiversity, and fair labor practices, values that are at the core of the Coffee Coalition.

This is a chance to understand what those values actually look like in practice.

Come taste coffee sourced through these relationships, learn about the farms behind it, and explore how a more connected and transparent coffee system is being built.
