OPEN BOARD AND COMMITTEE POSITIONS

We are looking for individuals with a diverse and broad range of strengths, experience, and backgrounds who are interested in having a positive impact on the community.

If you have a passion for food and have been looking for a place to improve our local food system, then becoming a Slow Food Portland Board member may be for you! Our ideal Board members love food and share a dedication to the mission of Slow Food Portland. They are good communicators, reliable, strategic, friendly, positive, flexible, and willing to roll up their sleeves and help us grow. It’s a great chance to be part of shaping an organization that has a real impact on our local food system and to work with a friendly, high-functioning team.  The usual time commitment is 5-10 hours a month. Board terms are for one year and are renewable.

Apply by sending an email to hello@slowfoodportland.com with your resume and one paragraph describing what you can contribute as a Slow Food Portland board member.

EVENTS

Let us know if you like to help plan & host events. We currently host monthly gatherings called Conviviums, which are social and educational. Through our Conviviums we aim to inspire Slow Food Portland friends to connect with local farmers and producers, support the work of local food system organizations, and join in the conversation on important legislation at the state and national levels.

We also host other types of events, like our annual community pot luck and sometimes we show up at other organization’s events too!
