November Convivium: The Story Behind Real Chocolate with Creo Chocolate

  • Cookshop 2625 Southeast 26th Avenue Portland, OR 97202 United States (map)

Chocolate connects us across continents, cultures, and generations, but how often do we stop to think about where it comes from, or the people who grow and craft it?

Join Slow Food Portland for an evening with Kevin Straub of Creo Chocolate, a family-run, bean-to-bar chocolate maker in Portland. Kevin will share Creo’s story from early experiments roasting cacao at home to building direct, lasting relationships with small, multi-generational farmers in Ecuador.

Together, we’ll explore how chocolate is grown, harvested, and transformed from bean to bar, while learning about the challenges and opportunities shaping the global cacao industry today.

6:00–6:30 PM – Social time, snacks, and drinks available for purchase
6:30–7:30 PM – Presentation, tasting, and Q&A with Kevin Strausbaugh of Creo Chocolate

Slow Food Portland Convivium are casual, community-driven gatherings for people who care about good, clean, and fair food. Expect an evening of learning, conversation, and, of course, chocolate.

Please RSVP here and let us know you’re coming.

Come curious, leave connected.
